REMEMBERING TOM GIARDINI
January 17th, 2016
Hartford, CT – It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of President Thomas M. Giardini. There was no man more committed to Associated’s success over the last 50 years than him, and we are deeply saddened by this loss. His energy and enthusiasm were contagious and it is our hope that we can continue this in his legacy.
Tom made an enormous impact on the A/E/C industry during his tenure at Associated Construction. Tom learned the business from his father and founder of Associated, Angelo Giardini, and helped to push the firm into the private market. He served as the President of the Connecticut Building Congress and the Wethersfield Historical Society, was Chapter President of the Associated General Contractors of CT, and was slated to serve as the Chair of the Connecticut Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors for 2016.
He went about all of his business with a fun and loving energy that made so many smile. He was extremely committed not only to his business and family but also to the Hartford community. He supported various organizations including The Bushnell, Mark Twain House, and the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving’s Doc Hurley scholarship.
Tom passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2015. He will be truly missed by so many in both the industry and the Greater Hartford community. A scholarship has been set up in his name through the Associated General Contractors of America. Donations can be made here. Please make sure to indicate “The Thomas M. Giardini Memorial Scholarship” in the designation drop-down box.
