Associated Construction was the construction manager for this high-profile UTC Aerospace Group (formerly Hamilton Sundstrand) Project involving a two-phase, $1.6 million renovation of approximately 20,000 s.f. of the headquarters building at One Hamilton Road, South Windsor, CT, into a new entrance lobby, customer call center, product display area, and employee training center. The project was intended to energize UTC Aerospace’s rebranding of Hamilton Sundstrand by creating a modern/futuristic, and at the same time inviting, environment for visitors to the firm and employees. The renovations were designed to serve several practical purposes and act as a reception/welcome area. The call center functions as a remote repair facility, allowing UTC Aerospace engineers to diagnose and direct repairs of its products throughout the world. The product display area is a museum highlighting Hamilton’s mission-critical technological innovations and developments throughout the years. Finally, the employee training facility is a classroom designed to educate and train new UTC Aerospace engineers in the firm’s latest technological design development practices.
